PCA Senior Mikayla Bardwell signs a Letter of Intent to play golf at the University of Tennessee.

Prestonwood Christian Academy (PCA) honored senior Mikayla Bardwell, of Lewisville, who signed a Letter of Intent to play golf at the University of Tennessee.

“I am incredibly proud of Mikayla, not just because of her accomplishments on the golf course, although they are many,” said PCA’s Head of School, Dr. Larry Taylor. “What impresses me more than her outstanding athletic talent, though, is her heart for the Lord. She is a leader at both our school and church, and she will definitely leave a void when she graduates. The University of Tennessee is getting a great student!”

Bardwell played on the 2015-16 TAPPS Team State Championship Team, which won by a record 66 shots, as well as on the 2016-17 TAPPS Team State runner-up team. At that State tournament, she finished individually in second place, out of first place by just one shot. She also shot a 63 in round 1 of the Lakeapalooza Tournament in the spring of 2017. Over the course of her four years at PCA, her scoring averages have continued to improve:

  • Freshman: 88.3
  • Sophomore: 79.27
  • Junior: 76.7
  • Senior: 72.1

This season, Bardwell is the captain of the 2017-18 PCA golf team and has individually medaled at both of the fall tournaments.

Prestonwood Christian Academy serves more than 1,600 students enrolled at three campuses: Plano (Pre-Kindergarten 3 through 12th grade), PCA North in Prosper (Pre-Kindergarten 3 through 7th grade) and PCAplus Virtual Academy. PCA North is now enrolling through 8th grade. The school has been recognized as having one of the strongest Christian education programs in the country providing intentional biblical worldview training and integration. PCA places great value on the growth of students' spiritual health in addition to their scholastic endeavors and co-curricular activities. In addition to PCA's spiritual development plan, the school promotes a rigorous Liberal Arts academic program. The graduating class of 2017 was offered more than $10 million in scholarship for academics, arts and athletics from universities and other institutions of higher learning. PCA is currently accepting applications. Interested families are invited to take a campus tour or attend an upcoming School Preview to learn more!
