PRESTONWOOD CHRISTIAN ACADEMY HONORS FIVE STUDENT ATHLETES ON NATIONAL SIGNING DAY

Prestonwood Christian Academy (PCA) honored five student athletes who signed Letters of Intent to play sports at the collegiate level. All five students signed with NCAA Division I schools.

“I am incredibly proud of the five students who signed today to play at five high-caliber collegiate athletic programs,” said PCA’s Athletic Director, Chris Cunningham. “What impresses me more than their outstanding athletic talent, though, is their heart for the Lord. I know they are going to make a positive difference at these universities in more ways than just in their respective sports.”

Senior guard Brooke Alexander signed to play women’s basketball at Liberty University next year.  Alexander was the Offensive MVP for the 2014 State Championship team, and was also First Team All-District, First Team All-State and First Team All-Academic. Alexander was also a finalist for the Texas Female Athlete of the Year.

Senior center Djery Baptiste signed to play men’s basketball at Vanderbilt University in 2015.  Ranked the number 22 player in Texas, and number 89 in the nation by 247 Sports, Baptiste has been nominated for the McDonald’s High School All-American Game.  He was one of 60 high school players invited to the LeBron James Skills Academy, and was ranked sixth overall at the camp.

Senior John Biavati signed today to play golf at Abilene Christian University.  Biavati was ranked tenth in state last year as well as earning All-District honors.  He placed second at the NTPGA War at the Shore tournament last year and eighth at the Lanny Watkins Cup.

Senior outfielder Caleb Kyle signed to play baseball for the University of Illinois.  He earned Second Team All-District honors last season.

Senior shortstop/second baseman Tristan Metten signed to play baseball at Texas A&M University.  He earned First Team All-District and Second Team All-State in 2014 and was named District Defensive Player of the Year.
