Girls Lacrosse Club Of Frisco Opens Fall Registration To New And Returning Fury Players

See what the fastest game on two feet is all about. Girls Lacrosse Club of Frisco (GLCOF) is looking forward to another furious season with online registration for the fall now open at www.FriscoFury.com. GLCOF is a league exclusively devoted to promoting girls lacrosse. Known as the Frisco Fury, the league offers programs for young ladies in grades K – 12.

Now in its second year, GLCOF has one of the largest girls lacrosse programs in North Texas, and the league expects continued growth from the 120 players registered in spring 2016.

“We were very pleased with the growth of the program in its first year. In fact, we are the fastest growing girls lacrosse program in North Texas,” said Mike Evans, president of the GLCOF Board. “We are thrilled to open registration for the Frisco Fury’s second fall season and look forward to getting many more girls involved in the exciting sport of lacrosse.”

Two player clinics on August 2 and August 16, will allow returning, experienced players to sharpen their skills and let new players get a feel for how the game is played. Mark your calendars and bring a friend!

For families ready to sign up now, an early bird discount of $50 will be applied to all online registrations completed by Thursday, July 14. Standard registration costs begin on July 15.  An initial payment of $100 will be required to hold a spot in the program at the time of registration. Final payment for all registrations will be due by August 15. Families with two players will receive a $25 sibling discount, three players a $50 discount, and four or more siblings a $100 discount given at the time of check out.

The standard registration fee is $250 for girls second through eighth grades. The fee for high school players is $425. The fall registration fee does not include a uniform cost. The GLCOF Board determined fall would be a good time to keep registration costs lower by allowing returning players to use their current reversible practice pinnie as the uniform. This decision also means all returning players will be assigned their same uniform number from the spring.

New players - and returning players who need a new pinnie - will be able to buy one at the Team LAX store located at 9201 Warren Parkway in Frisco. The cost is $25, and is not included in the fall registration fee. New player numbers will be generated and sent out before the first week of practice begins.

Practice is expected to begin the week of August 29. Youth teams will practice two times a week and high school will practice three times a week. The practice location is still to be determined as the City of Frisco determines field allocation for the fall.

The Little Scoopers development program also returns in the fall. ? Little Scoopers is a FUN skill-based program for the youngest lady ‘LAXers’ in grades K - 2.  The season will consist of one practice per week for 45 minutes.

To complete registration, players will need a US Lacrosse number valid through December 1, 2016.  If you are new to the sport, visit www.uslacrosse.org to become a member.  This is a requirement for all players.  The annual membership fee is $25.
